Two years ago I, James Childs, Mike Passaro and Patrick Downing traveled to Springfield Missouri and recorded On The Incarnation with Jeremy Larson. I’ve written a ton on the huge blessing it was working with all of these guys, so I won’t say it again here, and I always feel like I’m writing in a year book every time I do. HA!
Here are a few videos we made while we were out there. Hope you enjoy.
Oh and special shout out to Ben Salmon for being our musical arranger, manager, filmer, driver that week. Much love jameeen.
This past weekend we shot a video for Love Love Love. One of the songs off of our latest CD Jesus Wants My Heart.
My good friends Austin Simmons and Andrew Vanover directed the shoot. They are honestly two of the most talented guys I know. SO hard working and incredibly creative. It was an absolutely awesome experience shooting this video with them.
We shot it at my house….blew up about 200 ballons…..had 12 cast and crew….10 kids running/skipping/hitting/singing….5 sets of parents watching the whole thing go down.
Here are some video/pics from the day.
Hope you enjoy. The final product should be finished soon….we’ll keep you updated.
Can’t tell you how excited we are for you all to get to finally hear these songs. Feels like we’ve been working on them FOREVER. I think they should be for sale next Tuesday on Itunes. If not then definitely next week.
In the meantime you can enjoy this sampler of the three choruses all mashed together.
Thanks again for all the support…hope you like the songs.
We are so so close to finishing the Kids CD. I think James is going to be doing some final mixing this week and then we should be all finished. Hopefully we’re going to launch them to itunes next week…or the week after. Part of the reason for the delay is that we’re releasing these songs in conjunction with our church’s launch of their new children’s curriculum. Both projects should be ready to go live very soon. More about that later….
I’m going to be away for a few days this week….so you should all follow James on twitter @jameschilds and send 140 character or less, encouraging mixing updates. I’ll give you some good and bad examples of such updates.
Good: James I’m so very excited to hear these songs. I’m praying for your fingers as they turn knobs and press buttons.
Bad: I’ve heard this “we’re almost finished with the CD junk before.” Stop sleeping and MIX THE CD. Please.
James can be bribed to work faster with Counter Culture coffee beans….and Pei Wei.
Thanks so much for your patience, and your excitement about these songs. And for the tons of you that have tattooed JWMH to your body. Your commitment is amazing.
Not sure why I felt the need to try on so many hats while I was in Texas. I will say that my new Titleist hat is the bomb, and I intend to wear it all the time. Shout out to Webb Simpson.
We (Mike, Patrick, James, Ben and I) all lead worship for a men’s retreat in Asheville at a place called The Cove. Or as James refers to it; Hagwarts…ha. I LOVE playing music and spending time with these guys. Here are a few pics from our time together. One of them is taken from the cove website to prove to you that we did actually lead music at Hogwarts.
